Sister Glory Arah had never known her father and lost her mother at the age of 9. After obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate, she started learning hairdressing but could not complete it due to financial difficulties.

While in her village, Tabo in Manyu, SW Region Cameroon, life became so difficult due to lack of support from her family. She managed to get some money and traveled to Limbe to look for a babysitting job. Unfortunately she found none. A friend convinced her to follow her to Yoyo, a fishing port in Edea to assist her with selling fish from which she will have a commission. Sadly, the friend also convinced her that she will not be able survive without assistance from prostitution.

In 2012, she gave her life to Jesus Christ and stopped prostitution. Unfortunately, her friend with whom she was doing business died and life became very difficult again. She joined other women in doing the same business but was often maltreated. For about a year, her pastor, Johnson Besong, and brethren in The Apostolic Church Yoyo were supporting her with food.

When the LO Elder Ebune Philip learned of her case he presented it to the Charity Committee of TACC-Friends Int’l. She was assisted from the Charity Fund with 156,200 FCFA ($284) to start a clothing business at her request. The business is now doing well and Sis Glory is able to take care of herself.
