In June 2020, TACC-Friends USA learned of the case of Dieudonne who was a victim of the crisis in the North West and South West Regions. He was shot on about 2years prior, and had been suffering with it, not being able to get proper treatment because of the tense security situation and also because he did not have the funds, especially after having had two surgeries. He was septic on several occasions and almost lost his life and the use of his leg.
As soon as TACC-Friends heard of the situation from one of their TAC Sisters, the Liaison Officers contacted the family concerned and made several visits to assess the extent of the situation. Finally, the Charity Committee approved the sum of 500 000frs which was sent to the family to sponsor the third reconstruction surgery that had been recommended by the doctors but pending due to lack of finances. After receipt of support, surgery was successful and few months later, in June 2021 when we followed up, Dieudonne was up and about and able to use his legs.
